Added weight on the belt for a one-rep max. In pounds, one plate is 45 lb; in kilograms, 20 kg.

How this works

Tiers are based on the added weight on your belt for a one-rep max, counted in plates. In pounds, one plate is 45 lb; in kilograms, 20 kg. The numbers are the same for everyone: a two-plate pull-up (+90 lb or +40 kg) is Advanced Novice at any bodyweight.

Dips run one plate ahead of pull-ups at every tier, because most people can press more than they can pull. Novice is one plate on pull-ups (+45 lb or +20 kg) and two on dips (+90 lb or +40 kg), and each tier after that adds one plate.

Your tier is the highest level both lifts reach. One strong lift doesn't carry the other. Each lift's own tier is shown too.

Bodyweight is only used to estimate your max from a set. A recent set is turned into an estimated max the same way as the 1RM Calculator: on total system weight (your bodyweight plus the belt for pull-ups, half your bodyweight plus the belt for dips), counting reps left in the tank when you add an RPE. The bodyweight part is then taken back out, so the tier only looks at what is on the belt. With "I know my 1RM", your added max is used as is.

The squat is optional and shown on its own. It is estimated on the barbell weight only, then divided by your bodyweight: under 1.2 x is Novice, 1.2 x Intermediate, 1.5 x Advanced and 2.0 x Elite. It never changes your pull-up and dip tier.
